Welcome to
Tate Feed & Seed
Our story
Set across from the beautiful Ridley Creek State Park, and just a short walking distance from one of the township’s favorite local restaurants, Tate’s Feed & Seed carries on a decades old tradition of providing the people of the Middletown-Edgemont area with the things they need to take care of their animals.
Although Tate’s was only established in March of 2024, it comes as no surprise that people are already familiar with both the building -a hay barn from the 1800’s- and its staff, as while some businesses may come and go, the legacy of this local feed store is a long one, and one that we here at Tate’s hope grows with the years to come.
Whether you knew us as Tobin’s before, Back to Nature, or even further back to when the McCullough’s first opened the doors to their feed store, you know that this humble barn has seen its ups and downs, but has always stood strong as an integral part of this community.
From the weekend bird watcher to the farmer trying to feed his flock, we do our best to ensure that everyone gets what they need, when they need it.
About the Owner
Dusty Tate is a resident of Glen Mills, PA where he lives with his wife Tracy and 1-year old son Tyger. Dusty and Tracy’s mutual love for animals was one of the things that brought them together, which is now passed on to Tyger who has shown an early fascination and love for them, especially the family's golden retriever Charli, cats Smokey & Ember, and pig Lola. Dusty received a business degree from Monmouth University, after which he established Tate Property Management (landscape & firewood business), and is part-owner of Righteous Taphouse restaurant. Dusty grew up as a young boy going to the feed store, which is a long-established staple of the Gradyville community. He dreamed of one day owning and operating it, which came true in March 2024, the same month young Tyger was born. The Tate’s take pride in maintaining the familiar feel of this long-running establishment, while also making many new changes and improvements, including new hunting and fishing sections. The staff are considered family at Tate’s, and are extremely knowledgeable, familiar faces with excellent customer service. Especially the friendly store cat Juniper! We hope to see you & your family soon!
